I have finished the book called "Bringing Up Boys", By Dr Dobson. This book is mainly about how much our little guys need us and how we can understand them better. It was helpful and informative. There were parts that were very common sense, and went on a bit to long but over all a good book.
My Favorite part of the book was in the beginning where he mentions that boys would not make it to far in life without their mothers. Ha ha, I think we all know this but it is good to actually see it written down somewhere!! No one else has the patience or the endurance to teach (and re-teach) those life lessons. Another very helpful hint was when you are calling your son and he is not responsive (know what I am talking about?! :)). Instead of calling him and calling him leading from a normal talking tone to a yelling tone, try to touch his shoulder or arm and get his attention that way. And this response was tested in my household and IT WORKED!!
Boys are wired differently then girls. Being a female I appreciated and loved to hear those little details that make my sons a bit less confusing and to show them how much they mean to me as well!
I would recommend this book to anyone with boys. You would defiantly learn something new. And I would even recommend it for both mom's and dad's.
